On March 23, 2015, our company's engineers carried out the online installation of the AVI active shock absorption table and the Hitachi SU8010 field emission electron microscope in the laboratory on the 13th floor of the Science and Technology Building of Nanjing University. After the engineers' meticulous installation and debugging, the scanning electron microscope with the active shock absorption enabled showed a geometric multiple improvement in the image capture effect. Moreover, the resolution reached the order of 1 nanometer, which was unanimously approved by the laboratory teachers and they were given the treatment of on-site acceptance for the active shock absorption table. This installation was successfully completed.

From the above photos, it can be seen that the photos taken by the electron microscope when the anti-vibration stage is turned off are basically unusable. However, after using the anti-vibration stage, the vibration stripes of the photos obtained by the electron microscope are greatly reduced and the clarity is significantly improved. The clarity effect of the details of a 1-nanometer sample is good.
Overview of the use of seismic platforms
When a conventional scanning electron microscope (SEM) is placed on a high floor of a building (above the second floor) or in a site with strong vibration (such as a subway nearby), observation and photography at a magnification of over 30,000 times cannot be carried out. And a vibration isolation system - an anti-vibration table - is used. Field emission electron microscopy (FEM) requires observation and photography at hundreds of thousands of times magnification, which imposes even higher demands on vibration. Even if installed on the first floor, it still cannot meet the requirements. Generally, it is required to install an anti-vibration table.
